About the Role
This role is responsible for promoting a safe and compliant working environment, ensuring effective implementation of occupational hygiene programmes, and managing ventilation systems in line with legal and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure legal compliance with Mine Health & Safety regulations
- Plan and implement ventilation systems
- Manage occupational hygiene monitoring programmes
- Report hygiene data, incidents, and occupational illnesses
- Implement and manage hearing conservation programmes
- Oversee emergency preparedness and response systems
- Liaise with DMRE, Minerals Council, and regulatory bodies
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend corrective actions
- Manage departmental safety, costs, and administration
- Supervise and lead team members effectively
- Maintain compliance with standards relating to:
- Ventilation
- Occupational Hygiene
- Fire Prevention
- Hazardous Substances
- Rescue & First Aid
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or BTech
Experience
- Minimum 6+ years relevant experience
Certifications (Essential)
- Certificate in Mine Environment Control (as per Mine Health & Safety Act)
