About the Role

This role focuses on equipment reliability, maintenance, and vibration monitoring, ensuring optimal plant performance while maintaining strict safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on instrumentation and vibration monitoring equipment
  • Conduct fault finding, inspections, and calibration
  • Perform loop checks, alarm and trip checks
  • Implement equipment upgrades and modifications
  • Ensure continuous equipment availability and reliability
  • Monitor and maintain SHE compliance and safety standards
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and risk assessments
  • Support maintenance strategy and plant optimisation initiatives
  • Interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation
  • Provide feedback on work progress and system improvements
  • Maintain housekeeping and adhere to waste disposal procedures
  • Mentor junior artisans and support team development

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 / N3 with:
    • Mathematics
    • Physical Science
    • English
  • Trade Test: Instrumentation Red Seal (CHIETA/MQA preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years relevant experience

Licenses

  • Valid Driver’s License

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Instrumentation & vibration monitoring systems
  • Trip & alarm systems
  • Basic knowledge of DCS, PLC, FSC systems
  • Intrinsic safety standards
  • Process safety equipment
