 About the Role

Sasol is recruiting a skilled SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) Officer to support its Mining operations in Secunda.

This role is critical in ensuring safety compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement across the business — helping Sasol achieve its goal of zero harm and sustainable operations.

 Job Purpose

To monitor, measure, and report on SHE performance while coordinating audits, compliance, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

 Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Diploma or Degree in Safety Management or equivalent

 Experience Required

  • Minimum 6+ years relevant SHE experience

 Key Responsibilities

 SHE Governance & Compliance

  • Monitor and report SHE performance
  • Ensure compliance with SHE policies and regulations
  • Support audits, risk management, and assurance processes

 Risk & Performance Management

  • Analyse SHE risks and performance data
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies
  • Develop safety procedures and controls

 Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare SHE reports, alerts, and training materials
  • Engage internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Support communication of SHE updates and changes

 Training & Development

  • Identify SHE training needs
  • Support competency development programmes
  • Update learning materials based on incidents and risks

 Strategy & Implementation

  • Support SHE strategy execution
  • Drive change management initiatives
  • Improve communication systems and processes
