 About the Role

Necsa is hiring a Technician: Liabilities Assessment to support Decontamination & Decommissioning (D&D) operations.

This role focuses on nuclear facility assessments, safety compliance, and project coordination, ensuring all activities meet strict regulatory and environmental standards.

 Job Purpose

To perform liability assessments across Necsa facilities and support operational and technical D&D activities in line with:
✔ Nuclear licence requirements
✔ Environmental regulations
✔ SHEQ standards

 Minimum Qualifications

  • National Diploma in:
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Information Technology
      OR
  • BSc in Chemistry / Natural Sciences
    OR Equivalent Qualification

 Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years experience in:
    • Nuclear facilities
    • Design, construction, or maintenance
    • Decommissioning or licensing

 Key Responsibilities

 Liability Assessment

  • Verify and manage facility inventory
  • Compile liability assessment reports
  • Review calculations and documentation

 SHEQ Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality standards
  • Develop waste management strategies
  • Prepare HIRA, QA Plans, HAZOP, and Safety Reports

 Project Management

  • Coordinate D&D projects
  • Develop decommissioning strategies and safety cases
  • Manage project performance (monthly, quarterly, annually)
