 Job Purpose

To support the Unit Manager in delivering safe, high-quality patient care, while coordinating clinical activities, reducing risks, and mentoring nursing staff.

 Key Responsibilities

 Patient Care & Clinical Quality

✔ Deliver safe and comprehensive patient care
✔ Identify and mitigate clinical risks
✔ Maintain high clinical standards and compliance
✔ Develop and manage patient care plans

 Staff Support & Mentorship

✔ Mentor student and junior nurses
✔ Support staff development and training
✔ Promote continuous learning and improvement

 Operations & Resource Management

✔ Assist with staffing and resource allocation
✔ Manage stock and operational costs
✔ Support efficient unit operations

 Patient Experience

✔ Ensure a positive and professional patient experience
✔ Communicate effectively with patients and families

 Minimum Requirements

✔ Professional Nurse qualification
✔ 3+ years hospital nursing experience
✔ 1+ year mentorship experience

 Additional Requirements

✔ Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (for specialist units)
✔ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
✔ ACLS / ATLS / PALS (for specialised wards)

 Key Skills & Knowledge

✔ Patient assessment & care planning
✔ Infection prevention and control
✔ Nursing legislation & compliance
