 Job Purpose

The Miner is responsible for the safe extraction of ore underground, including drilling, blasting, and meeting production targets while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards.

 Key Responsibilities

 Safety (SHERQ)

• Ensure proper use of PPE
• Participate in safety meetings and campaigns
• Conduct incident investigations and implement preventative actions
• Perform risk assessments and safety observations
• Ensure compliance with mining standards and procedures

 Production

• Conduct daily re-entry examinations
• Identify reef bands and mark mining faces
• Charge and safely blast underground areas
• Plan and coordinate mining activities
• Achieve production targets and efficiencies

 Administration

• Complete documentation accurately
• Plan leave cycles
• Optimize use of resources (equipment, materials, workforce)

 People Management

• Coach and train team members
• Manage performance and development
• Ensure fair work allocation
• Drive team productivity and motivation

 Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Grade 10 or Grade 12 (or equivalent)
• Valid Blasting Certificate
• Valid First Aid Certificate

Experience:

• Minimum 2–3 years trackless mining experience

Other Requirements:

• Medically fit for mining environment
• Clear security screening record
