 Overview

Sasol is seeking an experienced Manager Survey Mining to lead and coordinate surveying, planning, and auditing activities within mining operations to ensure successful project delivery.

 Purpose of the Role

To manage and coordinate planning, surveying, and auditing functions aligned with mining work plans, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance in all mining projects.

 Key Responsibilities

 Surveying & Planning

• Provide specialist input into short-term mining layouts
• Ensure accuracy in execution of panel layouts
• Conduct regular surveys, checks, and re-surveys
• Map survey work using CAD systems

 Measurement & Analysis

• Generate accurate volumetric measurements
• Calculate stockpile volumes
• Maintain reliable data collection and reporting

 Operations Management

• Manage daily work plans within assigned sections
• Update work schedules regularly
• Ensure operational efficiency and execution

 Risk, Safety & Compliance

• Conduct regular risk assessments
• Compile accident prevention plans
• Ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001 standards
• Maintain safety of team and equipment

 Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop survey teams
• Conduct performance reviews and development planning
• Promote knowledge sharing across mining teams

 Continuous Improvement

• Improve 3D modelling and GPS surveying capabilities
• Maintain personal and team training compliance
• Drive innovation and efficiency in surveying processes

 Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / BTech in Mine Survey
• Mine Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency (Required)

 Experience

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in Mine Surveying
