Job Overview
- Job Title: Customer Service Representative
- Division: Solvents, Phenolics & Mining Chemicals
- Location: Sandton, Gauteng
- Experience Level: Senior (6+ years)
- Environment: Corporate / Customer Contact Centre
Purpose of the Role
To manage customer interactions, process orders, and ensure timely resolution of queries while delivering excellent service and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Order Management
- Process and verify customer orders (local & export)
- Ensure accurate pricing, delivery dates, and confirmations
- Maintain order bank and ensure data accuracy
Customer Support
- Respond to customer queries and complaints
- Provide order tracking and delivery updates
- Resolve issues promptly and professionally
Operations & Process Improvement
- Evaluate and improve customer service processes
- Perform order clean-ups and ensure timely execution
- Contribute to efficient contact centre operations
Collaboration
- Work with internal teams (logistics, manufacturing, finance, etc.)
- Provide backup support to team members
- Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
Problem Solving
- Investigate recurring issues
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA)
- Recommend corrective actions
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma / Matric
Experience Required
- Minimum 6+ years relevant experience
- Customer service / order management / corporate environment experience
