GH Transport is looking for an experienced Auto Electrician to join their team, working on heavy-duty Code 14 trucks.
This is a specialised, high-skill role ideal for candidates with strong experience in vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.
Job Purpose
To repair, maintain, and diagnose electrical systems in trucks, ensuring all components operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose starter motor and alternator faults
- Perform electrical wiring repairs and full harness work
- Test and maintain vehicle electrical systems
- Check and maintain charging systems
- Install electrical components (lights, switches, alternators)
- Conduct battery checks and maintenance
- Perform diagnostic testing on vehicle electronics
Additional Duties
- Work on accessories such as windows, indicators, and wipers
- Ensure all work meets safety standards
- Report faults and issues to supervisors
- Maintain high-quality workmanship at all times
Minimum Requirements
- Auto Electrical Trade Qualification (Trade Papers Required)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience with trucks: MAN, Iveco, Mercedes, Scania
- South African citizen
- Physically fit
Mandatory Requirements
- Must be fully vaccinated
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends
- Strict zero tolerance for alcohol or drugs in the workplace
