 Artisan Grade 2 Mechanical Fitter – Secunda

 Purpose of the Role

To operate and maintain mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment while performing routine maintenance tasks in line with safety standards and operational targets.

 Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant machinery and mechanical systems
• Interpret maintenance documentation and work management systems
• Conduct equipment inspections and perform routine maintenance
• Participate in risk assessments and hazard identification processes
• Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems (IMS, MBO, etc.)
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and feedback reports
• Support continuous improvement of plant performance and safety
• Mentor junior artisans and contribute to team development
• Participate in daily meetings, toolbox talks, and performance reviews
• Maintain housekeeping and proper waste disposal standards

 Minimum Requirements

• Matric / N3 with Mathematics, English & Physical Science
• Mechanical Trade Test (Red Seal Qualification)
• Minimum 3+ years relevant experience in a mechanical/plant environment
• Valid Driver’s License
