About the Bursary
The PRF, administered through the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, supports research in virology aimed at improving public health outcomes in South Africa.
This bursary is designed for postgraduate students pursuing an MSc in virology or related health science fields.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be registered for an MSc degree
- Have a minimum academic average of 60%
- Submit latest academic records as proof
- Be a South African citizen or permanent resident (preferred)

- MSc funding: Up to 2 years

Post-Study Requirements
After completing your MSc:
- Submit a Final Bursary Form
- Provide:
- Proof of graduation
- List of publications
