ABOUT THE BURSARY
The Cisco Charitable Foundation Trust South Africa launched its bursary programme in 2021 to empower young people through education.
Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s belief that “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world”, the programme focuses on developing IT skills and supporting South Africa’s transformation goals.
WHO CAN APPLY?
• South African citizens
• Students from “missing middle” households (income between R350 000 – R600 000 per year)
• Students in 1st to 4th year in 2027
• Registered or accepted at a public or private accredited institution
• Preference given to equity students
FIELDS OF STUDY
• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Software Engineering
• Information Technology
ELIGIBLE STUDY LEVELS
• Undergraduate (1st – 3rd year)
• BTech (NQF Level 7)
• Honours (NQF Level 8)
SELECTION CRITERIA
• Strong academic performance
• Demonstrated financial need
