Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technician to perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of cash processing equipment, including banknote and coin counters and sorters.

The role ensures maximum uptime, operational efficiency, and compliance with business continuity and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

 Maintenance & Technical Support

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on cash processing machinery
  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance plans
  • Conduct fault diagnosis and resolve equipment issues
  • Perform daily inspections and early fault detection
  • Analyse machine sensors and performance data
  • Maintain spare parts inventory to reduce downtime

 Reporting & Compliance

  • Conduct monthly inventory audits
  • Compile daily and monthly performance reports (uptime, downtime, maintenance)
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and documentation standards

 Governance & Quality

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards
  • Support ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) initiatives
  • Maintain adherence to company policies and procedures

 Culture & Team Contribution

  • Promote company values and a performance-driven culture
  • Act as a change champion during operational changes
  • Support teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements

 Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience as a technician
  • Experience with automated, electro-mechanical, or industrial equipment
  • Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Background in banking, cash processing, manufacturing, or secure environments (advantageous)

 Education

  • Trade qualification (Millwright, Electrician, Fitter & Turner)
  • OR National Diploma / NQF Level 5 in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechatronics
  • OEM or technical certifications (advantageous)

 Additional Skills

  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office or similar)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and reliability
