Job Purpose

The Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and repair of dangerous goods vehicles and pool cars.

The role ensures safety, reliability, cost efficiency, and full compliance with company standards and legal requirements within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily toolbox talks and supervise maintenance teams
• Manage diesel mechanics and service providers across multiple sites (Alrode, Waltloo, Secunda)
• Oversee maintenance schedules to ensure compliance and fleet efficiency
• Ensure adherence to service level agreements and company policies
• Support Sasol’s zero harm and zero non-compliance culture
• Perform quality checks on workmanship and job cards
• Conduct audits, inspections, and implement corrective actions
• Manage fleet compliance (licenses, permits, inspections, tracking systems)
• Identify cost-saving initiatives and improve fleet performance
• Manage team performance, attendance, and development
• Participate in recruitment and staff selection processes
• Handle disciplinary matters and workplace challenges
• Ensure all safety procedures and risk mitigation measures are followed
• Maintain and update fleet maintenance procedures and policies

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics & Physical Science
• Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate
• Minimum 6+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• At least 6 months managerial experience (advantageous)
