 Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage multi-disciplinary security teams across Secunda Operations, Mines, and Sasol-owned facilities by developing and executing security strategies, systems, and governance frameworks that ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

 Key Responsibilities

 Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement security strategies and operating models
• Provide strategic direction and leadership across security functions
• Align security operations with business objectives and risk frameworks

 Operational Management

• Oversee delivery of:
  • Access control systems
  • Control room operations
  • Investigation and permit services
  • Technical and specialised security services
• Coordinate multi-functional teams and optimise resource allocation

 Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with:
  • Legal and regulatory requirements
  • Security industry standards
  • Government security frameworks
• Conduct security assessments and audits (PISM)
• Manage certifications and regulatory approvals

 Incident & Emergency Management

• Guide tactical responses to security incidents and emergencies
• Oversee crime prevention strategies
• Ensure site safety across surface and underground operations

Continuous Improvement

• Drive process improvement through benchmarking best practices
• Analyse operational changes and adapt security systems accordingly
• Implement road safety and operational risk initiatives

 Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (relevant field)
• Firearm competency for business purposes
• State Security Agency vetting
• PSIRA Grade A certification or equivalent law enforcement training

 Experience Required

• Minimum 12 years relevant experience
• Proven leadership in security operations or risk management
• Experience in industrial, mining, or high-risk environments (advantageous)
