 Job Purpose

To lead the development, review, and oversight of IDC’s corporate strategy, while supporting execution and aligning business units with strategic objectives.

This role includes:

• Strategy formulation
• Stakeholder collaboration (internal & external)
• Leading cross-functional teams
• Driving organisation-wide performance and planning

 Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., BCom Economics)
• Development Finance qualification (advantageous)
• Master’s Degree (MBA/MBL)
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in strategy development and implementation

• Development Finance sector
• Economics / Socio-Economics / Development Economics
• Government policy priorities
• Performance management principles
• Change management & business process re-engineering
• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project)

 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee IDC’s long-term strategy and 5-year corporate plan
• Define and manage corporate performance metrics
• Guide capital allocation aligned to investment strategy
• Support business units in strategy development and alignment
• Lead corporate performance reporting (monthly, quarterly, integrated reports)
• Manage corporate planning and performance processes
• Lead Audit of Predetermined Objectives (AOPO)
• Facilitate EXCO and Board strategy sessions
• Monitor economic, legislative, and market trends
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership
• Support policy advocacy aligned to IDC objectives
• Lead, mentor, and manage the strategy team
