About the Role
Mediclinic Panorama is looking for a Hospital Case Manager to coordinate patient case management processes and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders.
The role focuses on clinical coordination, financial risk management, and compliance, ensuring patients receive the right care while maintaining efficiency in hospital operations.
Main Purpose
To manage hospital cases by:
✔ Coordinating patient care processes
✔ Providing accurate and timely clinical information
✔ Minimising financial risk for the organisation
Key Responsibilities
Case Management
- Manage patient stays to minimise financial risk
- Ensure timely and accurate case finalisation
- Facilitate reimbursements from medical funders
Compliance & Systems
- Ensure adherence to case management procedures
- Apply clinical coding standards (Level 3 guidelines)
- Use hospital systems and resources effectively
Communication
- Liaise with medical funders and stakeholders
- Provide updates through official case management channels
Team Leadership (if applicable)
- Lead and manage the Case Management team
Minimum Requirements
Essential Education:
- Clinical qualification
Preferred Education:
- Registered Nurse / Professional Nurse
- Qualified Paramedic
Experience Required
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience
Advantageous:
- ICU or Theatre experience
- Medical aid / funder experience
- Private healthcare experience
- ILS / ALS Paramedic background
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Anatomy and medical terminology
- Clinical coding and case management processes
- Medical aid contracts and funder requirements
- Patient administration systems (AS400)
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Understanding of healthcare regulations (e.g. Consumer Protection Act, PMB)
- Patient confidentiality and hospital policies
