 About the Role

Sasol is looking for a Driver Grade 1 (Forklift Operator) to join the Watergel Plant under Regional Operations and Asset Services.

This role involves handling, transporting, and managing materials safely and efficiently using forklifts and other equipment within a high-performance industrial environment.

 Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Forklift Competency Certificate

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in explosives manufacturing
  • Experience in Watergel Plant (advantageous)
  • SAP (PSD) knowledge (advantageous)

 Key Responsibilities

  • Load and offload materials from trucks and containers
  • Transport raw materials to production plants
  • Move final products to storage/magazines
  • Handle detonators between plants safely
  • Perform stacking and pallet movement
  • Maintain housekeeping in stores and yard areas
  • Record product deliveries accurately
  • Report forklift defects and ensure proper maintenance
  • Comply with all safety, legal, and operational standards
  • Assist with binning, issuing, and preservation tasks
