Job Purpose
To repair and maintain vehicle electrical systems, ensuring all components such as starters, alternators, lighting, and electronic systems function efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose starter motor and alternator faults
- Perform electrical fault finding and repairs (wiring & cabling)
- Test electrical systems and components
- Maintain and check battery systems
- Install electrical accessories (lights, switches, alternators, etc.)
- Conduct diagnostic testing on vehicle electronics
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
Minimum Requirements
- Auto Electrical Trade Qualification (Trade Papers)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience (truck industry)
- Experience with trucks: MAN, Iveco, Mercedes, Scania (Code 14)
- Physically fit
- South African citizen
- Fully vaccinated
Skills & Competencies
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of vehicle computer systems
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Willing to work overtime and weekends
