Overview
IMESA offers bursaries for full-time Civil Engineering studies. Other engineering disciplines may be considered at the discretion of the Executive Council.
Aims of the Bursary
- Provide financial assistance to students in need
- Recognize achievements of students (especially dependents of IMESA members)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be registered for full-time studies at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Must have successfully completed mid-year exams
- Bursary applies to second year or higher (not first-year entry)
What the Bursary Covers
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed books
- Paid directly to the institution
- Includes mentorship support
- Encourages participation in IMESA activities
Application Details
- Applications open: June each year
- Closing date: 15 September 2026 (for 2027 study year)
- Submit applications to IMESA Head Office
- Selection is based on a full evaluation process
- Successful applicants are notified before year-end
