Position Summary

Take full responsibility for the implementation, execution, and design of real-time monitoring systems to ensure Eskom remains at the forefront of condition monitoring and plant performance optimisation.

Department: RMDC Technical Support
Business Unit: Operating, Maintenance and Outages
Task Grade: G15

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure real-time heat rate and condition monitoring

• Review critical plant operations and develop improved work methods

• Conduct and determine root cause analysis (RCA)

• Ensure long-term plant health and life cycle performance

• Monitor and optimise power plant operations

Minimum Requirements

Qualification:

• B Tech (Technical) or National Higher Diploma (Technical)

Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in power plant processes and condition monitoring

Knowledge & Skills Required

Knowledge:

• Power plant processes

• Heat rate & condition monitoring systems

• Thermal power plant heat balance

• Regulatory requirements

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Advanced software applications

Skills:

• Strong analytical ability

• Engineering and operational skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Experience in power plant operations
