Job Overview
GIBB Mining, a subsidiary of the GIBB Group, is seeking a Procurement Officer to support mining project procurement activities.
GIBB Mining is a multi-disciplinary engineering design and project management company specialising in innovative and sustainable solutions for mining projects, from concept stage to commissioning and handover.
The Procurement Officer will manage the full procurement lifecycle for project packages, ensuring compliance with governance procedures, maintaining ethical procurement standards, and supporting efficient sourcing and tendering processes.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Tender Management

Compile Pre-RFQ bidder lists and obtain necessary approvals.

Prepare RFQ documents using approved templates and procedures.

Issue RFQs and manage tender documentation.

Participate in tender openings and maintain procurement records.
Supplier & Contract Management

Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors for price analysis.

Conduct bid evaluations and manage vendor queries.

Prepare commercial documentation for contract awards.

Facilitate purchase order approvals and placement.
Governance & Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with GIBB and client procurement governance standards.

Maintain audit-ready procurement records.

Monitor procurement bonds and change-management registers.

Inform the Procurement Manager of any deviations from procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

Interface with engineering teams to support the Procurement Operating Plan.

Attend pre- and post-tender clarification meetings.

Compile tender adjudication reports and contract documentation.

Provide monthly procurement reports for EPCM and contractor meetings.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
-
Procurement Diploma or Certificate
Experience
-
3 – 5 years procurement experience in an EPCM mining or project environment
Knowledge & Skills
-
Strong understanding of procurement processes in mining/project environments

Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, and SAACE contract forms

Strong negotiation and supplier engagement skills

Commercial and contract administration expertise

Document management and procurement reporting experience
