 Role Overview

As a People Systems Specialist, you will lead the administration, optimisation, and continuous improvement of the Human Capital Management (HCM) ecosystem.

You will serve as the subject matter expert, ensuring HR technology systems are secure, efficient, and aligned to business strategy. Using Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence concepts, advanced Excel, and data analytics, you will transform people data into meaningful insights that empower leadership, enhance engagement, and strengthen talent management.

 Key Responsibilities

 HCM System Management

  • Manage, configure, and optimise the HCM platform

  • Own system security, governance, and data integrity

  • Translate business needs into effective system configurations

  • Troubleshoot system issues and maintain seamless operations

 Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics tools

  • Use BI platforms and Excel to generate actionable insights

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality

  • Apply predictive analytics and modelling to inform decisions

 Innovation & AI Integration

  • Explore AI-enabled enhancements for HR processes

  • Support intelligent automation and predictive insights

  • Implement ethical and secure AI-driven improvements

 Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams

  • Empower leaders with reliable data and user-friendly tools

  • Support leadership development and succession planning

  • Contribute to a high-performance, people-centric culture

 Minimum Qualifications

✔ Degree or NQF Level 7 qualification in:

  • Human Resources

  • Information Technology

  • Or a related field

 Experience Required

✔ 5 years’ progressive experience in HCM system configuration
✔ 2+ years’ HCM administration & support experience
✔ 3+ years’ experience in HR data analytics and business intelligence
✔ 5 years’ advanced Microsoft Excel experience (PivotTables, Power Query, modelling, macros/VBA advantageous)
✔ Experience with a major HCM platform (SAGE preferred)
✔ Payroll systems experience (advantageous)

 Technical Skills

  • HCM configuration & security management

  • Data modelling & statistical analysis

  • Predictive analytics

  • Advanced Excel (complex formulas, dashboards, automation)

  • BI reporting tools

  • AI & machine learning concepts applied to HR

  • Governance & compliance knowledge
