Job Purpose
The Meat Market Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining a well-run butchery department. The role involves overseeing stock levels, budgets, staff, and quality standards while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction and implementing value-added promotions to drive sales.
Key Responsibilities
Staff & People Management

Perform people management functions within the Meat Market department.

Supervise and support team members to ensure productivity and service quality.
Customer Satisfaction

Ensure customers receive excellent service and quality products.

Maintain a customer-centric environment within the Meat Market.
Stock & Inventory Management

Ensure product and stock availability through effective planning.

Manage stock levels and inventory control processes.
Quality Control
-
Take responsibility for all quality control activities within the Meat Market.

Ensure products meet company standards and food safety regulations.
Administration & Operations

Manage administrative functions within the Meat Market department.

Conduct various ad-hoc responsibilities to support store operations.
Hygiene & Safety

Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Essential:

Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
Advantageous:
-
Blockman Certificate (NQF Level 3)
Experience
-
3–5 years experience in the meat industry

Previous management experience in a customer-focused retail environment
Knowledge & Skills
-
Knowledge of meat market hygiene and safety standards

Knowledge of meat cuts and meat products

Strong leadership and staff management skills

Excellent customer service skills

Good organisational and stock management abilities
