Purpose of the Role
To manage and oversee engineering maintenance activities within the assigned area, ensuring mining teams achieve production targets while maintaining high standards of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (QCDSM).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily engineering maintenance strategies and overhaul plans
- Ensure equipment availability and minimize downtime (MTTF / MTTR)
- Control maintenance budgets and cost efficiency
- Implement and maintain engineering SOPs and compliance standards
- Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions
- Oversee predictive and condition-based maintenance programs
- Ensure adherence to safety standards (Zero Harm, Zero Fatalities)
- Drive continuous improvement in safety and performance metrics
- Support production teams in achieving targets
- Lead, train, and develop maintenance teams
- Manage workforce performance, absenteeism, and engagement
- Coordinate recruitment and succession planning
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate / N3 / NCV Level 4
(Mathematics, Physical/Engineering Science, Business English) - Trade Certificate: Diesel Mechanic
Experience Required
- Minimum 6+ years relevant experience in engineering or mining maintenance
