Job Purpose
The Facilities Co-Ordinator is responsible for overseeing maintenance and repair work across facilities within the Distribution Centre domain at the Centurion Campus.
The role manages contractors, coordinates maintenance activities, and ensures facilities operate safely and efficiently while supporting projects related to the Facilities department.
Key Responsibilities
Contractor Management
-
Schedule workloads for contractors and monitor performance.

Conduct disciplinary discussions when necessary in line with company procedures.

Ensure contractors comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.

Control maintenance expenditure and manage budgets.
Maintenance & Operations
-
Manage day-to-day maintenance of the site.

Report and follow up on repair work and sign off job cards upon completion.

Maintain monthly maintenance records and spreadsheets.
Quality Control & Productivity
-
Minimise equipment and machinery downtime.

Manage MHE (Material Handling Equipment) usage and cost recovery.

Schedule monthly MHE meetings and monitor equipment performance.

Ensure compliance with PPE regulations for maintenance and cleaning staff.
Financial & Administrative Coordination
-
Handle invoice queries and coordinate payments with the Finance department.

Manage communication between contractors and internal departments.

Maintain accurate maintenance and contractor documentation.
Safety & Compliance
-
Maintain a safe working environment across facilities.
-
Ensure compliance with building maintenance standards and safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
-
Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
-
Recognised Facilities Management qualification or equivalent
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in building construction or maintenance.
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in facility management.
Advantageous:
-
Experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment.
Knowledge & Skills
-
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

SAP knowledge (Advantageous)

Building maintenance knowledge (Essential)

Material Handling Equipment (MHE) knowledge
-
Preventative maintenance programs for mechanical equipment, HVAC, fire systems, and emergency power

Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act
