 Job Overview

Standard Bank of South Africa is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to support Compliance Risk Management processes within Business & Commercial Banking (Lending & Risk).

The successful candidate will ensure that business activities are conducted in line with regulatory requirements, preventing operational losses, fines, penalties, and reputational risk while maintaining the bank’s competitive advantage.

 Key Responsibilities

• Enable execution of Compliance Risk Management processes

• Ensure regulatory adherence within the Lending & Risk business area

• Identify and mitigate compliance-related risks

• Monitor regulatory developments impacting the business

• Provide guidance on legal and regulatory frameworks

• Evaluate internal controls and governance processes

• Support risk awareness and process governance initiatives

• Protect the organisation from reputational and financial harm

 Minimum Qualifications

A First Degree in one of the following fields:

• Audit

• Business Commerce

• Legal

 Experience Required

• 5–7 years’ experience in Compliance

• Expert knowledge of regulatory requirements and upcoming developments

• Strong understanding of banking products and lending activities

• Experience within Business & Commercial Banking environments
