About the Role
De Beers Group, the world’s leading diamond company, is seeking a Community Liaison Officer to support effective stakeholder engagement and procurement compliance for the Kimberley Permanent Solutions Pit Stabilisation Project.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring community stability, transparent communication, and smooth project delivery through structured engagement and governance support.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement

Communicate project progress, activities, and impacts clearly to communities

Capture and escalate community concerns appropriately

Maintain stable relationships to prevent operational disruptions
Local Employment & Sub-Contracting
-
Support recruitment of local labour and enterprises
-
Monitor localisation commitments and compliance
Conflict Resolution
-
Mediate community and contractor disputes
-
Prevent work stoppages through proactive engagement
Reporting & Administration
-
Compile reports on community affairs, employment statistics, and project updates

Take meeting minutes and maintain filing systems

Manage accurate document control and procurement records
Procurement & Compliance Support

Support purchasing aligned with SCM policies and regulations

Source and vet compliant suppliers

Obtain vendor quotations and ensure governance documentation is complete

Coordinate CSI & SLP administrative requirements on SAP systems
Minimum Requirements
-
Matric (Grade 12)
-
Qualification in Community Development or Supply Chain (advantageous)

Experience in community liaison, stakeholder engagement, or procurement support
-
Mining-related community experience (e.g., Voorspoed, Venetia) highly advantageous
