Job Overview

GH Transport is recruiting experienced Code 14 Drivers for local and cross-border transportation of dangerous goods.

This role requires disciplined, safety-focused drivers who can operate long-distance routes, meet delivery deadlines, and maintain compliance with strict transport and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence
• Valid PrDP (DGP)
• Valid Hazchem Certificate
• Valid Medical Certificate
• Valid Passport
• Minimum 3–5 years experience transporting dangerous goods (cross-border)
• Must be 26 years or older
• Minimum Grade 10 (Grade 12 preferred)
• No criminal record
• Must be fully vaccinated
• South African citizen
• Ability to obtain blasting licence (other African countries)

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Transport

• Perform local and cross-border deliveries of dangerous goods
• Ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
• Follow all road safety, Hazchem, and customs regulations

Vehicle & Safety Management

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and checks
• Ensure vehicle is roadworthy at all times
• Maintain safety equipment and report defects

Load Handling

• Ensure cargo is properly secured and covered
• Take full responsibility for goods from loading to offloading
• Assist with loading, offloading, and trailer handling

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all required logbooks and transport documentation
• Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements
• Handle border clearance procedures correctly

Communication & Reporting

• Liaise daily with controllers and maintenance teams
• Report delays, incidents, and accidents immediately
• Be available and contactable 24/7
