Position Summary:
Lead product development initiatives for Eskom by providing technical consulting, developing engineering strategies, and integrating complex solutions. Guide multidisciplinary teams, ensure technical integrity, and support innovation in utility products and services.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical consulting and investigation services for product development
-
Produce and integrate complex engineering designs and solutions
-
Develop and approve discipline-specific philosophies, standards, procedures, and work practices
-
Formulate technology vision, strategy, and direction to enable innovative products
-
Conduct research into new technologies supporting future initiatives
-
Represent Eskom in national and international technical forums
-
Manage product, equipment, material, and service evaluations for technical integrity
-
Provide professional technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications & Experience:
-
BSc Eng / B Eng Degree in Engineering (NQF 8, 480 credits)
-
Minimum 7 years’ experience in utility or power distribution, including:
-
Engineering design and integration
-
MV/LV networks, substations, protection & control systems
-
Advanced metering, SCADA, telecontrol, and distribution automation
-
Grid modernization technologies (DER, BESS) preferred
-

ECSA registration as a professional engineer
