About the Tiso Foundation
The Tiso Foundation Undergraduate Bursary Programme supports talented, previously disadvantaged South African youth by providing financial assistance and development opportunities to help students complete their studies and build meaningful careers.
The programme aims to remove financial barriers, promote academic excellence and contribute to skills development in South Africa.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be aged 18–34
- Be from a previously disadvantaged group — Black, Coloured or Indian
- Be unemployed
- Demonstrate genuine financial need
- Have a positive attitude and commitment to their studies
- Demonstrate a commitment to community upliftment
- Provide valid academic or character references
Academic Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric applicants:
- Minimum 70% average
Current university students:
- Minimum 65% average

Successful beneficiaries receive financial support towards:
