About the Bursary

Nedbank believes the difference starts with youth. Through the Nedbank Educational Trust, academically deserving students with proven financial need are supported to achieve their first undergraduate or honours degree — helping shape South Africa’s future leaders.

Who Can Apply (When Applications Open)

Applicants must:

Have a minimum average of 65% in the year of application
Be admitted to a South African public university or university of technology
Study within Nedbank-approved fields of study
Have consent from a legal parent/guardian
Provide proof of financial need

Documents Required

Applicants will need to submit:

Certified copy of South African ID
Latest academic results (Grade 11, Grade 12, or University – depending on level)
Financial Check Affidavit (signed by applicant and parents/guardians)
Latest 3 months’ bank statements
Household income and expenditure statement
Supporting income documents for parents/guardians (payslips, IRP5, pension slips, affidavits, etc.)

All documents must be complete and submitted online. Incomplete applications are disqualified.

Selection Process

Online application screening and shortlisting
Psychometric assessments
Virtual interviews
Final selection at the discretion of the Nedbank Educational Trust
All applicants receive feedback once the process is complete
