Funded by the German Government, the DAFI Scholarship Programme supports talented young refugees to access higher education and become leaders in their communities.
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Since 1992, DAFI has helped refugees worldwide to pursue tertiary education, empowering them to contribute to social cohesion, community development, and a better future.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Applicants must:
• Hold a valid Refugee / Section 24 permit
• Have completed secondary school with above-average results
• Have no financial means to support tertiary studies
• Be under 35 years old (undergraduate applicants)
• Have applied and been accepted at a public tertiary institution
• Be studying full-time

DURATION
• Awarded for 1 academic year
• Renewable based on performance, participation, and funding availability

✔ Academic performance (minimum ±65% average)
✔ Financial need
✔ Personal background and potential
IMPORTANT NOTES
• The programme does NOT fund Master’s studies
• Selection is highly competitive
• Final selection is conducted by UNHCR and partner institutions
