 Who Can Apply

Applicants must:

✔ Be a South African citizen
✔ Be a first or second year Master’s student in 2026
✔ Have a minimum 65% average in their previous degree
✔ Demonstrate financial need
✔ Not receive another substantial bursary for 2026

The bursary prioritises students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Applicants must be studying within one of the following areas:

  • Medical and Health Sciences

  • Natural Sciences

  • Information Technology

  • Interdisciplinary research related to these fields
