Who I Am

My name is Lumka Makwarela, and I am the founder of NextStepZA — a platform created to help South Africans find jobs, learnerships, study opportunities, and career resources in one easy place.

My own journey through unemployment, rejection emails, and financial struggles inspired me to start this platform. I saw how many people simply needed guidance, support, and clear information — and I wanted to help.

Why I Started NextStepZA

I created NextStepZA because:

Too many people struggle to find reliable job information
Many applicants don’t know how to write CVs, cover letters, or motivational letters
Young people often miss opportunities because they don’t know where to start

NextStepZA exists to make the process simpler, clearer, and more empowering.
